Merit’s Home office provides full Project and Construction Management services and supports a full Construction Management team located on each project site. The “hands-on” home office interface with the Owner and engineers, monitor site activity and provide expert advice as required. Merit assists the Owner in logistics, planning, selection of resources, and execution of the work.
By providing these services from our home office Merit is able to provide Owners with a lower site administration cost.
Merit’s field Construction Managers and Trade Supervisors work as an extension of the Home Office team. They are qualified to manage, coordinate and supervise the work of the contractors and are experienced in civil/earthworks, structural, mechanical and electrical supervision. They monitor contractor progress, issue site instructions, change orders, approve contractor invoices, adjudicate claims and provide management reports to the Merit Home Office and Owner. They seek to achieve or beat the project schedule initiatives while not compromising safety. Merit’s HSE Manager works as an extension of the Owner’s HSE team and monitors the activity of all contractors (for example, site inductions, training, permit to work, incident reporting, site investigations, and tap root analysis).
Our Site Administration and Purchasing/Expediting team are supported by well proven field procedures. Our library of project management forms and procedures are easy to understand and implement.
On specific projects one point accountability can improve project schedule and capital costs. On these projects Merit, with the Cementation Group, offers a turn-key Best for Project service for above and below ground mining projects.
